Community Engaged Campus

The reach and impact of Sacramento State extends far beyond campus borders. Faculty, staff and students volunteer with nonprofit organizations throughout the region including food banks, shelters, schools and more. Programs like Project Rebound for formerly incarcerated students, Guardian Scholars for those who have experienced foster care, and a partnership with Women Escaping a Violent Environment (WEAVE) focused on sexual violence prevention education offer vital resources that help transform students’ lives. In addition, the University demonstrates its commitment to civic engagement by hosting on-campus vote centers to ensure greater access to voting and was named a Most Engaged Campus for Student Voting as part of the All-In Campus Democracy Challenge.

“Like my family, I have seen generations of students benefit from their educations at Sacramento State. These alumni go on to become change agents in every industry, public service, local government, and community.”
